Top 5 Beauty Tips for Wedding Day Prep

Bride and Groom

Weddings can be stressful, especially for the bride...on top of all of the planning, we want to look flawless on that day. The best we've ever looked, right? I know. Of the million things that can make you want to pull your hair out during the planning process, why make your beauty routine one of them? My wedding has recently passed- less than a month ago! Now that things have calmed down , I thought that this would be the perfect blog to write. Here's a few things that would make your wedding day go a lot more smoothly: 1.) Narrow down your hairstylist and MUA no less than two months before the big day! You should have already done the trial runs by this point as well. I would recommend doing trial runs at least 3-4 months out (you can never be too sure, right?)...that way, if you're not pleased with the results, you still have time to hunt for your stylist(s) and make changes if you need to.

2.) Wear a white shirt during your makeup trial run...

...or whatever color your wedding dress is. You'll be able to get a true representation of how your makeup will look while wearing the color that your dress will be. That will leave no room for any surprises and unplanned changes on the big day!

Bonus tip: on wedding day, make sure that you wear a top/dress that can be taken off easily without brushing up against your face or hair.

3.) Do not do any invasive skincare treatments less than a month before wedding.

No lasers, microdermabrasions, waxing, or anything that will possibly cause breakouts or harmful reactions. Things like eyebrows, lips, and your "pocketbook" (you know what I'm saying) should be okay to do two weeks out. Make sure your skincare routine is pretty consistent as well. Now is not the time to try new products. Just continue using what you know works for you.

4.) Maintain a fairly clean diet and a consistent workout regimen.

I'm not saying that you should start a new diet or join a gym. However, I would encourage you to eat as clean as possible by making healthier meal choices and drinking as much water as you can stand. Just make healthier lifestyle choices in general. Not only will your skin look great, but also your body will too! And this will prevent any major fluctuations in weight before the big day. On the other hand, if you are already living a healthy and active life, beware of any major changes to your routine a few months before the big day. I made the awful mistake of switching up my workout routine and doing more weight training three months before my wedding (what was I thinking?). Let's just say my next dress fitting didn't go as planned.

5.) Do...NOT...Stress!

It's true...stress can wreak havoc on your body. It can cause breakouts and your weight can fluctuate. Just relax. My mantra throughout my entire planning process was, "it's about the marriage, not the wedding!". Although, there were some things that slightly effected my mood here and there, I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't allow anything to fully stress me out.

Follow these easy tips and the stress from planning will be minimized tremendously. Remember: it's your day and you have the power the make it what you want it to be!
